Our Dojo
edlands-TMA is traditional, non-commercial, dojo focusing on Okinawan Goju-Ryu Karate & Kobudo. Located at the private residence of Sensei Doug Walker, we accept a very limited number of students. Class sizes are kept to less than 8 students per session to ensure each student receives the attention they deserve. Sensei Walker began his training as a direct student of Hanshi Anthony C. Marquez in 1985. With over 31 years of experience in Okinawan Goju-Ryu and Kobudo, Sensei Walker has the tools and knowledge to develop his students in the tradition of Tanzenbukon Goju-Ryu Karate and Kokusai Ryukyu Kobujustsu Kenkyokai, developing them into exceptional practitioners with an appreciation of the rich history of Traditional Okinawan Martial Arts.
Our school is a forth generation Goju-Ryu school. Hanshi Anthony C. Marquez was a senior instructor of Masabobu Shinjo (founder of Shobukan Goju-Ryu).
