Our Dojo
North Coast Aikikai school has a 50-year tradition of teaching Aikido in the greater Cleveland area. It emerged from Aikido of Cleveland; a school established in 1969 to further the study and practice of Aikido. Its foundations rest firmly in the teachings of Master Morihei Ueshiba (O’Sensei) the founder of Aikido and Sensei Vecchio founder and Chief instructor of Aikido of Cleveland.

Chief Instructor Salvatore LaCorte
(Aikido)
Mr. Salvatore LaCorte has been training since 1980 and has achieved a 6th degree black belt. He holds a teaching certificate from the U.S.A.F. with the official title of (Shihan) or Chief instructor. He is also an inducted member of the Cleveland Martial Arts Hall of Fame, class of 2020. Sensei LaCorte has been continually training in Aikido and has taught Self-defense programs at Aikido of Cleveland dojo, Lakeland Community College as well as workshops for many youth and community organizations.
